Sunlight 02:36
Collision: Follow this path we march Cleanse our veins of pain Fill thy eyes with light The earth now calls my name Shape our collective dream All now flows through me Come, I'll show you why the caged bird loves to sing Monologue: Come with me Place your feet between the sky and the ground Behind us is the earth whispering her dreams telling us this is not what she means Cold steel and asphalt swallow the terrain regurgitate a blue river brown and belch a khaki skyline All these streets seem to lead to the same place but I've seen better and there's no fooling you there's no fooling you Verse 1: Sunlight -- forever more found in the space of my rhyme Bound to the path that left you behind, I can never go back In so many ways, I swell in the tides Lost in the waves that carry my breath, a ghost in the depths of a world of flesh Half you motherfuckers only clap for yourselves, while I patterns my lines on Orion's belt... How many ways could I testify? How many stars could fill this sky? Or overlook ways I could read your mind? Tear your page from the book of life? Jasmine shadows puncture night and scream advice that heaven must wait It's never too late for a desolate dream or a poignant feeling that all is not well God gave me a bomb and a walkie talkie take it everywhere I go and I hold it sloppy The eagle flies south is the code to blow Catcher in the Rye and a Southern Girl Glass slipper dream and a razor blade necktie Blind man telling me I haven't seen shit Make music to die for in bumfuck Egypt with liquor in my liver and a loaded gunclip Verse 2: Press on -- the motif I repeat slowly under my breath I could never give up on these worlds I project centrifugal force I use to profess a tequila sunrise and a beautiful death aborted baby girl and a list of regrets all the lost songs that decay in my head webs of pathology dormant or dead secrets kept to the rhythm of a drum woman I love but can't love me some struggle to grow; I struggle to see the shafts of your heart that open for me streak my eyes with spears of light wake my brain, let it all convulse engulfed and cold I sold my soul to dream untold in hopes it lives much longer than me

Verse 1, Chuckie Campbell My heart bleeds for my time to speak, consumed and spread out edge to edge Somewhere between a falling sky and burning bush, this is the pledge -- so, gather 'round, I live for less than visions burnt upon my brain, find my barren thoughts that shock the lost awake, I undertake -- a broken-souled enigma, anima the anesthesia Yes, I am my brother's keeper, not the source of his amnesia Lie here injured, breathing sarin gas with shoulders broad as atlas shrug and bring the gods back down to earth so they can look me in my eyes Compel the overtures that open ya Utopia's the formula, a cornucopia of concepts feeding counter-culture Reform born upon a cusp, airbrush the parsecs from the parallax, my syntax ran laps around your fallen stars Braced by the opaque, I shape the shapeless in this portal Mortal man is born again with every second that he lives The earth spins revolutions fusing seasons, choices, reasons We all exist within this appetite and tribal lust, because... Chorus 1, Chuckie Campbell There's a broken path for broken souls, probed through flesh of mother earth Search this path and know its cursed with greed and murder, lies and hate Every face has two to spare every man has traveled there Nothing's new for those that wait for death and waste their life There's a broken man in broken lands, walking paths he made himself Search this path and know its blessed by one not scared to die Every day has two to spare Follow him, he'll take you there Every second's new for those that choose to make their life Count the ways There's brighter days The shape of you is yours to choose The muse infused and born to fly Spread your wings and watch the sky Eyes have yet to see this fusion trapped inside new man and woman Verse 2, Chuckie Campbell Thine eyes bleed for my time to see, consumed and spread out edge to edge Somewhere between the shape of light and heaven's height, I must confess -- I, once repressed, could not express deploy the noise inside my head I lived for less than most would guess the folly of one's brain Disdained, we dress ourselves to look like him, dye our hair to look like her, tuck in our shirts and bend our brim It does occur to look so real Diet pills, uppers, downers, over counters yellow eyes and darkened veins feed the source of this illusion Mirrors show the powdered faces, struggle to be human, wonder whether they should just say no or just do it Life alone is self improvement We're all different, exuberant meant to permeate the walls, evolve the lax grip of plastic life The price? The rights of passage, vantage point to find your voice Hoist the flag that represents your world as I will do the same The path of slaves is paved with martyr's blood and yellow brick Ask the broken man in broken lands I'm sure he'll tell you this... Chorus 2, Chuckie Campbell There's a broken path for broken souls, probed through flesh of mother earth Search this path and know its cursed with greed and murder, lies and hate Every face has two to spare every man has traveled there Nothing's new for those that wait for death and waste their life There's a broken man in broken lands, walking paths he made himself Search this path and know its blessed by one not scared to die Every day has two to spare Follow him, he'll take you there Every second's new for those that choose to make their life Count the ways There's brighter days The shape of you is yours to choose The muse infused and born to fly Spread your wings and watch the sky Eyes have yet to see this fusion trapped inside new man and woman Verse 3, Chuckie Campbell Thine ears bleed for a song to hear, consumed and spread out edge to edge Somewhere between a martyr's dream and poets tongue it shall address -- new human depths, deject dissension fill dimension, lift and listen to the people, braced by its extension No fowl religion, creed or dogma, totem faith or twisting tao, this song shall know the now probably better than the author It offers mantras many doctor, but can step outside the doctrine Man could limit one's exhaustion if he made his own concoction We are building flesh around our shadows, precise to shoot their arrows, snag the apple from a greedy king's crown Bound to places never found by those without creative spirits We live it, breathe it, and see it moving deep-seeded in soul I dare not let it go New man and Woman feel it, also Probes the host, we stretch to reach we seek the days of flowing change -- I need not try to change the world It's changing as we speak Ask the broken man in broken lands He'll tell you what he told me Chorus 3, Chuckie Campbell There's a broken path for broken souls, probed through flesh of mother earth Search this path and know its cursed with greed and murder, lies and hate Every face has two to spare every man has traveled there Nothing's new for those that wait for death and waste their life There's a broken man in broken lands, walking paths he made himself Search this path and know its blessed by one not scared to die Every day has two to spare Follow him, he'll take you there Every second's new for those that choose to make their life Count the ways There's brighter days The shape of you is yours to choose The muse infused and born to fly Spread your wings and watch the sky Eyes have yet to see this fusion trapped inside new man and woman

Verse 1, Chuckie Campbell Come to life Move to the groove, sit back on an epiphany Our travel will begin, when you -- Free your mind Connect your inhibitions, let feelings become pathways, live for the moment and Open your eyes Time is of the essence This life is so precious Listen to the message and Come with me Be a slave to the rhythm so the rhythm will rock Push light in the heart of a God named Art The boundaries are intense as the current will carry The power will astound, 'cause We get down The perishable parables paradigms are paramount punitive and proven to Keep us down Survivor of the merchant rise to find purpose The circuit was furnished, so Let us rise To walk without promise shackled and held hostage we'll take back this province and Live right now Chorus 1, Singer We will rise We will rise Verse 2, Chuckie Campbell Slander the known answer, cancer that's our dagger, factors that move backwards, conquer the true master -- Lack of it is origin, tales of the few dorian, border the historian, reference the rhetoric -- The reverend that wrestles it that represents the reverant, dianetic sedatives prevalent to the resident -- privacy -- bi-partisan -- freedom despite brevity -- inverted pyramid -- The message is this... Never find who we are until we're locked behind bars, a slave to this machine, or dead to the world, recycle poison in our veins, feed to the same to our seeds, perpetuating dynamics have us dying to eat Standardize our education so they use what they teach to fit the profit margin that our communes can reach The occupation we seek are the ones right here What we don't understand -- Feeds our fear Chorus 2, Singer We will rise We will rise Verse 3, Chuckie Campbell It's the praxis or the prosody the body of the form it's the apathy of obstacles our souls volatile it lives in articles, cubicles, and modules, numerals that follow us and prompt monitors Sharks that draft loans for homes we'll never own Elected politicians conspire to count votes Slippery slope -- we're depressed and so tolerant our voice box muted, but We must speak Else, others speak for us and damage the philosophy We'll liberate these properties and Fight for change Unfold the manifold, mundane before stained, by those who come close and See the light Slaves to our rhythm we become the harmony, solemnly ebbed in the web of this vitatlity Answer me twice, if your soul takes flight Absorb this awareness and Come to life

borrow joy from the composition ectoplasm of the prophet swims beneath my melanin clouds of gelatin shake loose bolts of electric blue jolts eyes squint to paper slits, release to seek prose -- melodramatic, expedite light through a world so ceramic panoramic third eye the days fly by... a 40oz in my stomach another beer coming something tells me the morning comes quickly -- easy, shut my eyes and envision, a place we control within the dream sequence -- connected, live on through these songs those that live through me shall live with more beauty some steal shadows don't be so very shallow sparrows hold the tarot and seek to fly south...

Verse 1, Chuckie Campbell It's the vague uneasiness of something left undone I can see it in your eyes and feel it when we touch imagine it in my dreams inter-weaved between my cold tears, deep fears under the sentences sedated Read poetry to dead air, fall into the darkness that clings to every alleyway, decay in its illusion It walks like a woman in a blanket of contempt the crux becomes the conflict, the nexus of the complement All things nascent are born to themselves to dwell on this dream below skies of caramel, spin like carousels characters carry hell catapult magic spells that repel gun shells -- Can't keep us out of jail out of touch, out of place my mind's in outerspace expanding its database Embrace the interface many try to duplicate can't wait, collecting stardates confuse the morbid orbits Those that can't absorb it, their minds will soon forfeit My rhymes are one accord with the music that soaks in Whiskey in the darkness, swallowing silence There's a message in this bottle "I'm a drink 'til I find it" The price is the pious Unplug this appliance and watch ultra-violet light rays extend from my palms I'll speak and bond a universe from previous songs, breathe and blow breath in your inferior lungs, meet and greet with people 'til I touch every one, give back what I've been given through the power of love, so when life has expired and my time has come, I leave remnants of experience and things that I've done If not enough, here's my music, a reflection of me, everything that I did and didn't want you to see, all the truth and the lies that I choose to believe I hope that you can make some sense of it and set yourself free I hope you can simply listen to it set yourself free I hope you can simply listen to it set yourself free Verse 2, Chuckie Campbell It's vague uneasiness of something said too much My heart beats on my sternum with a marvelous disease Incurable the sovereign-ness that many can't see, so I carry my soul, like a large bag of groceries It's avarice, betrayal worthy of security, to remedy the anti-body must be purged of purity No suicide is exercised sanitized by synthesis Hidden in our darkest hour -- confidence to grow I hold the microphone like William Burroughs held adrenochrome, like Hunter S.Thompson holds his cigarette clip, like a God holding humans under wonderful punishment, a death too fluent for many to appreciate Simulate the fate that connotates our lust Who's worse between us? The blind man urinating from his window, or the servant, who opened it up? Thus, some companies are more powerful than some nations, some individuals more powerful than both The suffrage is prominent, reaching every continent, establishing our monuments with fast food chains, while their citizens walk about showing their ribcage Market cheeseburgers to a convent of Hindus Homogeneous cultures are totally subdued, fused and lost touch to actively intervene work jobs we don't want to buy shit we don't need Paint a picture young artist bring a vision to life Write a book young writer, while you're able to write Sing young talent with your beautiful voice, touch minds, wield hearts out of people of stone What it means to be human liberation and growth Undertones are undertold now free to release in our beautiful demise we provide the vaccine in our beautiful demise we provide the vaccine Verse 3, Chuckie Campbell It's the vague uneasiness of losing something you love You can feel it in your bones and it's never enough it's cold and it lies in the lines in your face To bring it back to life, you'd gladly take its place It's a beautiful death It can never be same, constantly reminding us the only constant is change All is not lost, today's a beautiful day, born to live on in a particular way These words are the footprints from places I went so if you gone through something similar you know where I been Atonement often molded from the ink in my pen, empty from asceticism, parallel numbness Bathed benign by its circumference to show me what love is walk the line of my existence, connect with the benison -- feed imagination and self exploration, the orbital plane becomes my visceral brain, continual strain to be released from the rage, Conjecture contained, they put life in a box a sad God in a cage, it's a pattern of thought Escape, become lost in this body of sound It's a beautiful death, until we live, right now Today's a beautiful death, until we live, right now
6.
Verse 1, Chuckie Campbell In an endless dream this feels like pain My eyes engage and can't escape Infinity opens and sings me songs, swims timeless laps and then dissolves Facades un-thaw and drip from stars Volumes swell and become my arms They press my hands on walls of sound, a world not flat, but still not round Knows not what I am, but words of grace If I look close enough, I can see my face The rain cascades and paints my tears Songbirds sing and fill my ears with maps and numbers and places to go Journey to mecca to build my home I'd give it all up, if the water was free and so would the people who think like me Verse 2, Chuckie Campbell Empty or full the songbird says It depends on whether we're free or dead Would you rather shake hands or shake your head? Experience Eden or stay in bed? Prepare for the worst or expect the best? If you knew such things, would you settle for less? God love you or hate you, exist at all? Is what you believe, your highest thought? Does two plus two equal four if the value of two isn't two anymore? Conceptual simples aren't concrete laws so the value of two is a relative clause I hope you're still there, not totally lost and the effect of this song complements your cause Here on an Odyssey, we shall march 'til the light switch either turns on or off

about

The Sunsets and Silencers EP was recorded in the late Summer of 2003 and the Winter of 2004 in Nashville, TN. Originally, this project was meant to be an album, but what is captured here, are the only surviving tracks. The project was never mastered and the mixes are the ones we did in-studio after recording.

The album cover features the circle and downward triangle, which are very old symbols. The circle is emblematic of boundary and enclosure, of returning cycles. The downward pointing triangle is sometimes referred to as the chalice. It is the symbol of water (as it flows downward); it is one of the most ancient symbols of female divinity and representative of the movements of earth and heaven.
